So many people came to talk to me. I mean, after I spoke, I have to tell you, it was one of the most heartwarming standing ovations I've ever received. I was really worried about this. I hadn't done this type of presentation for a long time.

I talked about food storage and water storage. I talked about making sure. And folks, most of my talk was generated out of my book that you can get on our website. My first book that I ever wrote way back in 1994, I think it may have come out. No, it did.

It was the summer of 1994, the very year I filed the lawsuit against the Clinton administration to stop the Brady bill. I wrote the book, From My Cold, Dead Fingers: Why America Needs Guns. And folks, there's, there's analyses and graphs and everything in there to prove without question, that the safest way to defend yourself from a would be attacker is with a gun.

And the study that we showed in there that I really liked, that I put on display during my speech, shows off all the ways you could possibly defend yourself, stand there, do nothing, scream, use mace, run, hide, doesn't matter. Of all the methodologies that a person can use and has used to protect yourself from a would-be attacker, you know, throwing a knife at them, whatever. It's all there.

The safest and most effective way to defend yourself is with a gun. And most of the time, folks, this is what the book brings out. Most of the time, you do not need to shoot the gun. In fact, the most alarming and best warning that you can give somebody who's trying to break into your home is just do the pump action with your pump shotgun.

You click that down, or you cock a gun, maybe like a Winchester, John Wayne rifle, make it real noisy, or you know, pull your slide back on your semi-automatic sig sauer and make sure that that can reverberate through the house.

The would-be intruder will be running away. You don't usually and quite honestly, in police work the same thing. All you have to do is brandish the weapon to send a would-be attacker out of your life. And so the possession of a gun is 83% of the time and I think it's actually gone up a little higher.

That analysis that I put in there was quite dated, but it's still really about the same 83-85. 85% of the time you come out unharmed if you have a gun to defend yourself with nothing else is even close. It is the best and most effective way to defend yourself.

So don't let anybody ever talk to you about it. But then what have I also said and the book. My books also bear this out. Just like Judge John M Roll said, “You don't need to do an analysis to make something constitutional. Let's not forget that gun control in the United States of America is against the law.”
