Apparently after consultation with Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery, newly elected Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone is conducting a scheduled, regular release of criminal illegal aliens onto the streets from various County Jail facilities, against the wishes of federal immigration authorities. Both the Tucson Citizen and Judicial Watch, among others, have today published stories on the program. The CSPOA is strongly against this dangerous policy, and is shocked that the Sheriff, who has taken an oath to protect the people of Maricopa County, is putting criminal illegal aliens back out on the street instead of assisting federal authorities in removing them from the country.  Sheriff Richard Mack, President of CSPOA, was furious when informed about the releases, which have apparently been going on for some time.  “Our citizens and our peace officers are put in danger when these criminals, many of whom have convictions for violent crimes, are released.  We call on Sheriff Penzone to reverse this dangerous policy immediately.”, he said.
