(by Rick Dalton on Aug 24, 2015) A heretofore unknown group calling itself the Center for Western Priorities, (herein CWP) has published an attack piece on the Constitutional movement to restore “public lands” back to their true owners, the states and people of the states. Using the typical socialist, statist, liberal left-wing labels such as “extremist groups that refuse to recognize the authority of the U.S. government”, “land seizure movement”, and others, SWP calls out groups like CSPOA and Oathkeepers as leading the charge to steal western lands “from the American people”.

Curiously missing is any real analysis of the central pillar in the fight to restore limited government: The United States Constitution. That’s because the Constitution is the protection against an overbearing, out of control federal government, and it is groups like CWP who have lead us to the point where the federal government claims to own or control over 80% of some western states. This map shows in red, the amount of land within the states claimed by the federal government. (Indian lands are not included) The Constitution specifically states that any land within the boundaries of a sovereign state must be purchased with the consent of the state(s), and can only be for military bases and “other needful buildings”. The CWP, for some reason, is afraid to list its staff, directors, or even its funding sources on its website. So for now we only know that a significant amount of money was put into this slick and misleading digital attack. CSPOA Founder and President Sheriff Richard Mack (Ret.) had this to say: The fact that so much money and effort was dumped into this mud-slinging screed is proof that the American People are waking up and putting pressure on their legislators to straighten out the problem of federal overreach and to put the servant back into its proper role. We are grateful that so many elected officials are joining the battle for liberty, property rights, and prosperity.”

Be that as it may, CSPOA, Oathkeepers, and other Constitutionally oriented groups will keep the pressure on to enforce the Constitution as the Founders wrote and envisioned it. ~Submitted by Rick Dalton~
