Graffiti popping up in Detroit sparks renewed fears of violence against police. The drawing depicted a figure with angel wings and a halo pointing a gun at a police officer. In what appears to be a response to graffiti reading “Kill [police chief] James Craig”, a new breed of lowlife added “Kill All Police”. According to internet news source patriotupdate.com, the chief had this to say:
“’Is it troubling? Absolutely. Do we take it serious? Yes we do,’ Craig said. ‘Given the environment that we’re in today, we don’t take threats lightly. Any time you threaten a Detroit police officer — and now the Detroit Police Chief — that’s a threat on all of us.’
“Craig said that despite the personal threats, he is not ‘deterred’ in stopping the culprit of this crime.
“’Whatever your motives or reasons for that, we will continue to do what we do, we will continue to fight this fight. … We will continue to reduce violent crime in the city of Detroit, regardless of what idle threats individuals might make,’ Craig said.”
As no one has claimed responsibility for the bellicose blather, one thinks of Black Lives Matter and its leadership advocating violence. No BLM spokesman has denounced it as far as we know. CSPOA urges police nationwide to use extreme caution and strict officer safety precautions in your duties.
