FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Collier County Board of County Commissioners establish Collier as a Sanctuary Bill of Rights County

NAPLES, FL — Tuesday, August 22, 2023, four (4) of five Commissioners in Collier County had the courage to reaffirm their commitment to protect their constituents from stampeding Federal government overreach. Commissioner Chris Hall reintroduced this ordinance that was defeated by a liberal board vote 2 years ago.

“Kudos to the four Collier County commissioners for the courage to re-affirm their commitment to protecting their constituents from federal government overreach. It's time for your commissioners to do the same,” said Keith Flaugh, Florida Citizens Alliance’s Managing Director and CEO.

This was an amazing effort of a broad coalition of local leaders and conservative groups led by Kristina Heuser Esq, Rocky Scofield, Florida Citizens Alliance, and others. Most importantly, it was supported by Sheriff Rambosk, Congressman Donalds, State Rep Rommel, Stephen Friend (FBI Whistleblower), Alfie Oakes, Cary Scott (GM of the Alamo Gun Range), Citizens Defending Freedom, and the Collier County Republican Executive Committee leaders along with 30+ local patriots who testified on behalf of the Ordinance.

“I am proud to have spearheaded bringing back the Bill of Rights Ordinance for Collier County. This was a campaign promise for smaller government and common sense. This was a major move for our county to protect the liberties of our people, limit any unlawful acts by Federal or State Governments, and return the power back to the people as our framers intended,” said Chris Hall, Collier County Commissioner District 2.

This Ordinance makes it illegal for any County employee, official, or agent to participate in carrying out any unconstitutional law, mandate, or order of the federal government. It takes the Left's concept of local “sanctuary” but, rather than use it to protect invaders of our country, uses it to protect Americans from federal government overreach and encroachment upon our God-given liberties as enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.

This achievement stands as a pivotal triumph for the United States Constitution, Collier County, and a growing movement that is making waves throughout both Florida and the nation.
